![]() | Santosh Hero, Character Actor and Producer First film: Beli (Punjabi - 1950) Last film: Deewane do (Urdu - 1985) Santosh Kumar was Pakistan's second super star film hero after Sudhir but he was the first ever top romantic hero. His first film was Ahensa in 1947 in India. In Pakistan, his first film was Beli in 1950 and in the same year he became hero of the first ever silver jubilee urdu film Do Aansoo. Santosh Kumar’s real name was Syed Musa Raza. He was born in 1928 at Lahore. He graduated from Usmania University Hyderabad, India. He also passed I.C.S examination. First he got married in his own family with Mrs. Jameela Begum and then he also married with actress Sabiha. The first Nigar Award for best actor in the history of Pakistan was presented to him in film Waada. Shaam dhalay is the only movie which he produced, directed and played the lead role. ![]() | Aslam Pervez Hero and Villain First film: Qatil (Urdu - 1955) Last film: Mohabbat ho to aisi (Urdu - 1989) He was a successful film hero in the 50s but became top villain in Urdu films from the beginning of the 60s.. Patey Khan, Chan Mahi, Miss 56, Aas pas, Chhoomanter, Sheikh Chilli, Koel, Neend and Ishq par zor nahin were some big films as hero. He died in a car accident in November 1984. ![]() | Darpan Hero and Producer First film: Amanat (Urdu - 1950) Last film: Larram (Pashto - 1986) Darpan was a top hero in the beginning of the 60s. He was introduced in film Amanat in 1950 and after only one more film Billo, he left Pakistan and tried his luck in Mumbai, where he appeared in two Indian films Barati and Adl-e-Jahangir. But he was more active in non-professional activities there and became one of many victim of famous Indian actress Nigar Sultana (who played famous Dil Aram role in classic Indian film Mughal-e-Azam and was married director S.M. Yousuf and actor Zahoor Raja too!). Darpan came back to Lahore after few years, where film industry was booming and he acted in first film Baap ka Gunnah.But he got breakthrough from his own produced film Sathi. Raat ke Rahi, Saheli, Gulfam, Qaidi, Anchal, Baji, Shikwa, Ik tera sahara and Naela were some big films as hero. His last big film as hero was Pail ki jhankar in 1966. He was hero in Waheed Murad's two produced films Insaan badalta hai and Jab se dekha hai tumhen. He was villain in Ik Gunah aur sahi and supporting actor in Khuda te Maa, Jab jab Phool khiley and few other films. Darpan's real name was Syed Ishrat Abbas. Santosh (Syed Musa Raza) was his elder brother and director S. Suleman and (flop actor from the mid 70s) Mansoor were his step-brothers. He was married to Nayyar Sultana and he died in 1981. ![]() | Akmal Hero, Villain and Extra First film: Jabroo (Punjabi - 1956) Last film: Bahadur Kisaan (Punjabi - 1970) Akmal was the second super star of Punjabi films after Sudhir. He started his film career as a makeup artist and appeared as an extra actor in Qatil and Dulla Bhatti. Jabroo in 1956 was his first film as hero but the golden era of his film career came after the great success of Hath Jori in 1963. His mega hit film Malangi (1965) was a peak point of his film career. He appeared as villain in Baghawat (1960) and his sudden death on June 11, 1967 made him an unforgettable film character in Pakistani Punjabi films. Filmography of Akmal:

![]() | Ejaz Hero, Villain, Producer and Distributor First film: Hameeda (Urdu - 1956) At the starting of his career, he was crticised that he had not acting talent and his accent is not very good etc., and sure there were some realities on these crticism. But it is a fact that Eijaz is luckiest actor that despite of his shortcoming in acting, most of his films became very successful for some other factors, not because of him, like Raaz (1959),Salma (1960) Shaheed (1962), Lakhon main aik, Badnam and Sarhad (1967), Zarqa and Dia aur toofan (1969),Anwara (1970). Basheera (1972), Wehshi Jatt (1975), Moula Jatt (1979), Sher Khan (1981) and many other superhit films made him a demand of box office. | Sadiq Ali (Prince of Minerva) Hero First film in Pakistan Judai (1950 Shaheena,Nazar and Zeenat). Other film Shola (1952). Sadiq Ali was a very successful and famous actor before partition and got the title of Prince of Minerva. He acted in many films in India like Pukar (Naseem, Sohrab Modi) Sandaisa (1939), Sikandar (1941), Blackout, Dunya tumhari hay, Phir milaingay and Ulti ganga(1942), Pathron ka sodagar (1944, first film of Meena shori who later migrated to Pakistan and worked in many films), Jagpeeti (with Surraya), Nishana(1946) Do Nainan, Manjhdar and Mitti (with Khursheed, Tansen fame, who migrated to Pakistan and worked in two films Funkar and Mandi in 1956). Sadiq Ali could not be ssuccessful as he was in India. He was paralyzed in 60's and could be seen sitting with Pan shop in Capital cenima lane, Karachi. Died in 1977 in Karachi.
